Journey through mindful movement, conscious breathing, and sacred sound

Welcome to Ishta Yoga

Ishta (इष्ट / ISH-tuh) means ‘that which is sought’. We seek to achieve, through our practice, an integration of all aspects of our being, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Ishta Yoga returns to the roots of the tradition, offering an authentic and integrative practice that restores inner unity.

I have practiced yoga since childhood, beginning with lessons in pranayama and asana from my grandfather. My background is rooted in a family tradition of Vedic chanting and ritual, which informs my current use of Sanskrit mantra and nyasa. After years of independent study and practice, I completed my formal teacher training in Auroville, India, and have been teaching for four years.

My approach to yoga is integrative, focusing on precision, structural alignment, and the refinement of attention, and the life-force. My practice draws from ancient Sanskrit texts, classical Hatha Yoga sources, and diverse Eastern traditions, including Advaita Vedanta, Kashmiri Shaivism, Kriya Yoga and the Tantra Shastras.

I am also an avid painter and Youtuber at @outofindiatheory where I do podcasts and videos on Non-human Intelligence, Consciousness, Nature of Reality, Mysticism and other topics.
